A Blu-ray title opens without a player, so it is measured like any other file - only the thumbnail and stream detail extraction policy turns discs away.

Sampling is a measurement, so it has to give the same answer twice. If it ever does not, something in the decode path is order dependent and cached geometry cannot survive a rescan.
